Why Sony believes ‘City of Bones’ will be a hit

Will City of Bones be a HUGE hit?  Well there are no guarantees of course, but it looks like Sony has faith in this picture!  The Examiner has given us some reasons to back that up, see below!

1. Casting decisions- Fans may have been annoyed by this films seemingly slow casting but Sony has shown everyone that they were just simply taking their time on finding the right cast. The hiring of Lena Headey as Jocelyn Fray really demonstrates a belief in the franchise. Headey (‘300’ and ‘Game of Thrones’) is an amazing actress. Her character, though very important to the plot, doesn’t find much screen time until later in the series. I love that the studio is thinking ahead with this casting choice!

2. The official Mortal Instruments movie site- The launch of the official movie site also shows the commitment that Sony has to this franchise. Notice the URL is http://www.themortalinstrumentsmovie.com not ‘City of Bones.’ The site also does a great job of introducing new fans to the series with great descriptions of all the characters and affilitations. I will look forward to seeing the evolution of this site over the years.

3. Future filming schedule? “Well, if they do film movies past ‘City of Bones,’ they’ve discussed filming them all at the same time (a la LOTR,”) said Clare on Twitter. This of course would be very exciting and should give fans motivation to see ‘City of Bones,’ that’ll debut August 23, 2013 as many times as they can. The fact that the studio has discussed this possibility with Clare also shows their dedication to the franchise and faith that it will be BIG.

These all look convincing enough to me, what do you think?
